Dolphin Research Center currently has a full-time opening for a Membership & Special Events Coordinator. This newly created position’s main focus will be to assist the Director of Membership and Development in helping the department grow in multiple ways, including special event planning and oversight. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Assist in the development of new membership programs and services Assist in the development of creative fundraising opportunities such as: Peer-to-peer Crowdfunding Social Media Assist with day-to-day functions Special event planning, implementation and oversight, including: Member and Major Donor events Conferences and Incentive programs Private events such as weddings, anniversaries, etc. Plan and coordinate Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) programs with multiple departments Oversee WWP events including Soldier Ride and Project Odyssey Plan and coordinate Operation Healing Forces Programs Prepare and supply monthly report to Wounded Warrior Project Prepare and supply quarterly report to Dolphin Dream donor Maintain relationships with organizations outside of DRC Maintain standard operating procedures manual and update changes for specialized group programs Assist other departments as needed

Requirements: 
Applicants must have excellent computer skills, experience using databases, spreadsheets or financial software. Ability to multitask, good math skills, organizational ability, and effective written and oral communication skills are required. The position requires the applicant to be friendly and outgoing, a self-starter, able to work with a minimum of supervision and a “team player.” The ideal candidate will be someone who wants a career in fundraising for non-profit organizations with opportunity for growth.

SALARY & BENEFITS The cost of living in the Keys tends to be high and salaries, for the most part, are not competitive with the national average. Starting salaries vary according to an applicant's educational background, experience, and particular job responsibilities. The starting annual salary for an entry-level employee at DRC averages $21,000. Many staff members find it necessary to supplement their income through other means.
